前幾天聽到一位很有智慧的人的話,他說,不是你不能成功,是你放棄得太早.
聽起來的確是的,成功未必是會發生在自己的身上,它也許是要經過世世代代的經營,愚公移山是一個很好的例子,或現實生活當眾很多富有人家的寫照,有些人能在有生之年看到成功,有些人死了之後才成功,人生就是那樣如此.百萬富翁多數都在中年,前是幾年都是跌跌撞撞,摸索自己的方向,想不到成了百萬富翁,霜鬢已白.很多科學家就是擇善固執,研究好幾年,才研發出一個小小的東西,如果不能被人欣賞,就不能賺錢,他唯有再繼續其他的研究實驗,那怕是一樣不值錢的東西,它至少在人類科學史上留名,也許有一天,也會被人發現它的用處.
當然這不是叫人做壞事情也要堅持,怕人誤會了,再補上這一句.

hi yong, forgive me if I missread your message. Its not that scientists study things endlessly whether they be useful or not. They do strive to study something which will be beneficial to mankind. Whether it would be profitable is another matter. Success in science is tricky, we may think we can acheive it but may in the end come across a dead end. But hey look at Thomas Edison.. an interviewer asked him "how does it feel to fail 200 (or was that 2000) times before successfully making the lightbulb"..to which Edison replied, "I did not fail, apparently figuring how to make it is a 2000 step process" .. :)
yeah you are right, i should say it that way.. hehe
